ROADHOUSE TALES is now back in print!
We've spent the better part of a year working to publish in paperback format this fascinating book written by Tootsie's grandmother.  An independent, well-read and outspoken woman, Matilda Clark traveled to the Alaska goldfields at the dawn of the 20th century.  She was an observant and thoughtful recorder of the society she found there, and today you can almost hear the people's voices as they tell their stories in the pages of her book, first published in 1902.

Roadhouse Tales is a one-of-a-kind documentary of life around Nome in the early 1900's.

A vivid chronicle of an era past, you will find both "real" names and many little-known facts throughout this delightful story of people searching for instant wealth--having caught "Nome Fever."  Take yourself back in time to an event that tested the character of so many people. How might you have responded to the challenges of the Klondike?

$17.95 plus $1.42 postage.  (Add 8.0% sales tax if you are a Washington State resident)

Fishing Galore

The Pink salmon are in and the run is great. Do you want to fish? If you haven't before, now is the time to try. It's absolutely the best time because these fish (also known as pink salmon) are coming in such great numbers this year, compared with other times. The large run of humpbacks should arrive around Dec. 1. For a Steelhead you could put in 30 - 40 hours to catch one fish. When humpies are in the river in these peak numbers, you could catch 10 fish in an hour, but the daily limit is four over 12 inches. So, come up and fish your heart out!!!
