Welcome to Skagit River Resort!

Latest news: The Bullerville Utility District has announced that it has received final funding for the completion of the new BUD water system.  Construction will recommence in the fall.  And...

We now have limited wireless internet at the resort.  This WiFi service is still in it's infancy and we are already moving forward with immediate improvements to improve reliability and signal strength.  There is a password you need to get at the office to log on.  Enjoy!

All the Country Cabins now have gas fireplaces, real cozy for taking the nighttime and early morning chill off. We're always adding new video titles and now have a good collection of DVDs as well as the VHS tapes in the collection.  Those cabin-and-a-movie nights are always great.

Our Rhodies and Azaleas are gorgeous right now. We have seen ten Golden Finches and one Lazuli Bunting at our bird feeders and of course lots of hummingbirds. We now have a family of wrens that have new babies in our birdhouse on our office porch.  Boy, do they let Mom and Dad know when they are hungry.  I also got to hold a baby Blue Jay who came out of his nest to soon and landed on our car.  I moved him to a planter of white fuchsias.  He squawked a bit and Mom wasn't too happy, but all is well now, golly he was cute.

Three deer were in the Memorial Park just walking around and exploring a bit, nibbling on the spring grass.  They seem to be quite at ease on our 125 acres, as no one bothers them and it is large enough with enough food and water access so they don't have to leave the boundaries for anything.

As the river valley narrows and development of housing sites progresses, scenes like this will disappear.

The Eatery is still buzzing and everyone is gearing up for a busy summer, if it ever gets here.  We have had some nice car groups already and one motorcycle group that really enjoyed our outdoor Patio dining area.  This is new to the Eatery and is very nice with all the fuchsia hanging baskets and umbrella-covered tables.  We can now serve Washington wines and microbeers outside, along with food and other beverages.  So do stop by and check it out.  This spot will be much enjoyed this summer.

Summer time is always a beautiful time to hike the many trails and see nature's wonders in the North Cascades. The Cascade Road had two bridges washed out this winter and as of this writing (6/6/08) the county has one bridge open to one-way traffic, but the one above still isn't yet passable to the parking lot.  The rest of the roads are in good repair and should pose no problems for you hikers.  Review our Trail Conditions printouts at the Resort Office, or for the very latest info we suggest you talk to folks at the US Park Service info office just east of us on Ranger Station Road in Marblemount.

Other news: The Resort will be upgrading some of the interior furnishings soon which will be a very nice aupgrade to our cabins. The River Court area, right along the bank of the Skagit, will be open this summer for tent campers at $20.00 per tent.  The sites will have nearby access to a portable restroom facility that we have purchased.  We plan to making some nice changes to our tenting areas each summer.  In regards to the family, Bob is going in for a knee replacement on 11 June, and Tootsie has been taking acupuncture treatments for relief from back pain.

We are still doing our Skagit Shuttle Service, call 360-873-2250 and ask for Bob Brooks.  If anyone wants to fly in to the Concrete Airport, we can shuttle them up to our Resort for a comfortable cabin for a week day adventure or a weekend get-a-way.  We do hiking shuttles and for the kayaks and others who get out on the river we do boat shuttles. You take your boat to your put-in place, drive your rig to The Eatery and Bob follows you to your take-out place, you park your rig and Bob shuttles you back to your boat where you head out on the river.  This all for a very reasonable price.

We are open here at Clark's Skagit River Resort year round with office hours 9am - 9pm, and The Eatery Restaurant's winter hours are 7am to 7pm.

Judi recently became ordained as a Member of the Clergy of the Church of Spiritual Humanism, so that she can perform Weddings, Affirmations of Love, Name-Givings, Benedictions, Funerals and Wakes here in our community.  "The reason I decided to become an ordained minister was because one couple asked if I could coordinate a wedding for them in four days.  The main task proved to be finding a minister whose schedule was open and who could get here for the ceremony.  I did find one after two days of calling, but it was an anxious time.  With internet research, I learned I could become ordained myself.  I now welcome the opportunity to consult with you to make your celebration all that you wish it to be and a memorable event for you and your loved ones; Little Wildwood Chapel that seats nine people inside and lots more people outside has proven to be a wonderful venue for these occasions.

Our House Concerts  at Brookhaven Lodge have continued to be fun.  So do plan your entertainment calendar to include these dates for a very nice evening out.  In an informal small-gathering setting, our House Concerts bring a varied selection of performing artists to the Resort, with an goal of providing memorable enjoyment for our guests and Upper Skagit Valley neighbors in a comfortable environment.  The series is going very well, but we wish that more locals would attend.  A house concert is a chance to meet the performers personally, perhaps getting them to sign their CD during the break or after the performance.  This is a non-profit activity (all of the proceeds go to the performers and charity) which we really hope will become an event everyone looks forward to each month.  Resort guests always qualify for advance-pricing, so plan on attending if you are overnighting with us on concert night.  Our house concerts are usually scheduled for the second Saturday of each month -- see our Live Performances page for details.  Performers appearing over the next few months (mark them on your calendar) are:

Plan to enjoy one of the Bullerville Trails on your next visit, whatever the season.  The River Trail is always popular, leading from the Chapel down to and along the bank of the Skagit.  And the new Upland Trail, in the forest west and northwest of the resort's cabins, should be a very nice trail for year-round use also.  It is about a 2.5 miles long, meandering through our forest, with several connecting loops for people who might want to make the trek shorter.  Regional lowland trails are usually accessible all or most of the year.  Come in to the Resort Office to check out our wall-sized hike and activity locator map and check the latest trail conditions.  Single-page individual hike description sheets are also available.

Be sure and visit our new Friends page which contains links to lots of images, homepages and blogs on the web, all pertinent to the North Cascades experience.  Check this page out if you are interested in sharing your trip photos with others, or just seeing what images other folks have posted for the world to enjoy.  Don't miss the box describing our "Shirt Shot" award program that could earn you a free night at Skagit River Resort for sharing your picture of you or a friend wearing one of our tee shirts in a distant locale.

Handsome souvenir Eatery coffee mugs are available now (see pictures above).  Decorated with, of course, a bunny and lettered in gold, these are a "must have" for your mug collection.  Call us at 360-873-2250 if you would like to order some.

Best wishes from the Clark family and all our staff...
